Chevrolet team close to launch

Chevrolet Team Sweden has still not confirmed their program for the 2010 Swedish Touring Car Championship season.
“We are not there yet and we do not want to announce anything until we have everything on paper. But I expect us to have something to present shortly,” said team manager Nicklas Karlsson to TouringCarTimes.com.

The team had a shaky ride last season when they parted ways with Norwegian driver Thomas Schie in the middle of the season, who was replaced by the Swede Pontus Mörth.

“It was a tough season last year, that is why we are extra cautious for this season,” said Karlsson.

The team has currently got one Chevrolet Lacetti and they have previously announced their intentions to acquire the newer Chevrolet Cruze-model.

“We have not bought one yet, although we are working on getting a Cruze. But time is working against us,” said Karlsson.

While the team is focusing on STCC and the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup, they are not ruling out one or two races in the European Touring Car Championship.

“If everything goes according to plan, we might enter a race such as the ETCC-finale in Italy. But our main focus is on STCC,” said Karlsson.
