Appelqvist confirms Alfa entry

Robin Appelqvist is going to take part in the independents category of the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2010.
“This feels great, a but unreal. It is going to take a bit of time to realise,” said Appelqvist.

The 18-year-old Swede is going to drive an Alfa Romeo 156 that previously has been driven in the DTC.

The goal for Appelqvist is not to win the independents category, Semcon Cup, the first year.

“It is going to be tough, that I know. My ambition is to manage to take a podium or two,” said Appelqvist.

The team states that their Alfa Romeo has put a laptime around Gelleråsen that would have put them third on the grid in the Semcon Cup.

“It is a proof that the car is fast. Now it is up to us to get as good conditions as possible around us to get where we want,” said Appelqvist.
