First NGTC engine delivered

Pirtek Racing has taken delivery of the first NGTC specification engine ahead of the British Touring Car Championship 2010 season. Andrew Jordan is going to drive the turbo charged Vauxhall Vectra this year and is scheduled to complete the first test next week.

The engine is build by Swindon Racing Engines under contract to TOCA. The engine is available for purchase or hire from the BTCC organisers.

During the 2011 to 2013 season teams are able to run S2000 specification cars with the NGTC engine or go fully NGTC with both engine and car.

So far no teams have opted to go for the full NGTC specification.
