SBR reveal new liveries
The SBR racing team have revealed the liveries for the three Ford Falcon’s it will run in 2010. The team’s 2009 drivers Alex Davison & van Gisbergen will be joined by Tim Slade.
Wilson Security joins at title sponsor of Slade’s #47 car, after the closure of the Paul Cruickshank Racing squad after four seasons in the series last year.
Stone Brothers Racing is one of two factory supported Ford squads this year, alongside Ford Performance Racing.
With Ford now by far the minority manufacturer in V8 Supercars in 2010, the team will be hoping to return to former glory as seen with now NASCAR regular Marcos Ambrose & Russell Ingall in the mid 00’s.
IRWIN Tools returns as title sponsor of #4 Alex Davison, who returns for his second full season in V8 Supercars. The company boasting a revised logo, altering the look of the car slightly this season.
Alex is looking forward to the new season, and working with new race engineer David Stuart:
“I had a busy break over Christmas; I got married in Melbourne in the New Year and spent time relaxing with my family which was great. I haven’t stopped training and have taken advantage of the QLD heat to be prepared for the first round in Abu Dhabi.
“I’m really looking forward to working with David Stuart this season. He did some great things with Jason Bright in the second half of last year with SBR and we are planning to start the year strong, focusing on our qualifying.”
SP Tools will sponsor the #9 car of New Zealander Shane Van Gisbergen.
“I have never been so keen for the season to start as I am now. I had a great break over Christmas in New Zealand but can’t wait to get back to racing again”, said van Gisbergen.
“The SP Tools Racing Falcon looks fantastic! It’s great to have Lucky 7 on board as a new sponsor and Fuchs stepping up their sponsorship with SBR so hopefully I do this new livery justice when we head to the Middle East later this month.”
Tim Slade joins the team in a new third car for the squad for 2010
