Prize money for the fastest lap

The FIA World Touring Car Championship independents are going to have even more prize money this season. The new partner Monroe will award the fastest lap of each race with 3 000 euro.
“We are very grateful to MONROE, who recently joined WTCC as an official partner, for their generosity,” said KSO general manager Marcello Lotti.

“The MONROE Performer 72,000-euro prize money comes on top of the 480,000 euros awarded by the Yokohama Independents’ Trophy, increasing the total prize money to an amazing 552,000 euros,” said Lotti.

Last season Stefano D’Aste would have been 24 000 euro richer if the prize would have been in effect then. The Italian set the independents fastest lap eight times.
