Michel Nykjær confirmed for SUNRED
Reigning Danish Touring Car Championship champion Michel Nykjær is going to drive for privateer SEAT team SUNRED Engineering.
“My goal is to win the privateers championship 2010 and I think that is a realistic goal despite the hard competition,” said Nykjær.
Nykjær has got a lot of experience, winning DTC in 2007 and 2009 and the ETC Cup in 2007 and 2008, but has never before driven the diesel powered SEAT.
“I have tested the SEAT Léon TDi and it is an amazing car,” said Nykjær.
SUNRED Engineering won the independents championship in 2009 with Tom Coronel and Nykjær has full trust in the team.
“SUNRED and SEAT Sport have got close relations and I have full trust that they can help me to be in the very top,” said Nykjær.
Pole Position Denmark and Valvoline International are backing Nykjær’s drive in the WTCC. The Dane’s first race is going to be the WTCC 2010 premiere at Curitiba in Brazil on march the 7th.
