Gabriele Tarquini crashes at Macau

Championship leader Gabriele Tarquini received a serous blow to his championship efforts as he crashed in to the barriers of Macau. It was on the way up to Moorish Hill that the Italian made a mistake and put his TDi SEAT in the walls.

The Italian was unhurt, but the session was immediately red flagged and not resumed.

The SEAT team is currently working frenetically on repairing the damage ahead of the qualifying session which starts at 08.00 CET.

Before the session was red flagged, Rob Huff held the fastest time with 2:31.824 in his Chevrolet Cruze.

Andy Priaulx was second fastest followed by team mates Jörg Müller and Augusto Farfus, two tenths behind Huff.
