Magnussen and “Flash” hails new series
The DTC and STCC profiles Jan Magnussen and Jan “Flash” Nilsson hails the newly announced Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
“This is the best thing that has happened for Scandinavian motorsport ever,” said Magnussen to TouringCarTimes.com.
“This championship has the potential to become the best in europe, no doubt about it.”
A three year plan was announced yesterday where the Swedish Touring Car Championship and Danish Touring Car Championship are going to merged in to a Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.
“Racing drivers are always looking for new challenges. STCC is a great challenge as it is, but to join it with DTC is going to make the challenge twice as hard,” said “Flash”.
Magnussen has taken part in the Danish series since 2001 and is looking forward to new challenges with the merged series.
“The competition is going to be so much tougher in the new series, I am very much looking forward to that,” said Magnussen.
“Flash” has taken part in the STCC since 1996, when he was the key person behind the start of the series.
“The STCC title is very prestigious, but to take a Scandinavian title is of course much bigger,” said “Flash”.
