Casper Elgaard talking to DTM teams
Three time Danish Touring Car Champion, Casper Elgaard, has confirmed that he is present at the DTM season finale at Hockenheim today. Together with his manager, he is talking to several DTM and Porsche teams concerning a deal for 2010.
“I am primarily here to talk to a number of different teams,” said Elgaard to TouringCarTimes.com.
The young Dane tested Stefan Mücke´s Mercedes DTM car back in 2006, during a two day winter test at the Estoril track.
But the test was done without the deal getting signed, making him return to the DTC after chasing sportscar fortunes in the Le Mans Series.
Elgaard had the support of former sponsor Essex Invest at the time, the same sponsor which secured him the LMP2 class victory at Le Mans this year.
However the property developer Essex Invest is currently fighting for its life, trying to make deals with creditors to avoid closure. Elgaard has been racing a SEAT Leon for FDM Motorsport in the DTC this year, but he had to sit out several rounds due to financial issues.
But it seems that Elgaard is looking for a DTM seat for 2010.
