Magnussen: “It is not a satisfying result”

The Danish Touring Car Championship finale saw Michel Nykjær take the crown, while the defending champion Jan Magnussen ended up being four points short. But after the final heat, where Magnussen clawed his way from twelfth to third place, he was after all content racing for the team.

“You can be a bit disappointed, “ Magnussen agreed. “But all in all I am happy to give the guys in the team that finale, where I went from twelfth to third. It was a really great race and I hope that other than me enjoyed it.”

The 2008 champion ended up in second place, taking the silver medal in the DTC.

“It is not gratifying to end up in second place. It has never been, and will never be. Chevrolet had a good season.

I don’t know what role the weight had in the finale, due to the rain, but we made a mistake with the tires in the first heat. We lost some points there, and in the second heat we both headed into the collision.”

“The third heat was not much better, I could have done more, but that is down to the first heat. I should have gathered more points there.”
