Stephansen out of DTC due to economy

As expected Joachim Stephansen will not race at the final Danish Touring Car Championship race at Jyllandsringen this upcoming weekend, as the young driver has been haunted by economic problems.

The risk of damage during the rainy weekend seems to have made the sponsors of the young driver backing down from further cost.

Yesterday Team Telesikring confirmed Tom Pedersen in their lead car, and the team is open to the idea of racing team boss Peter Ager in their second orange BMW 320i E90.

The main cause of Stephansen not racing is, according to the team, the amount of damage sustained by the young driver during the season.

“Joachim has been haunted by damages during the races of this season, “team boss Peter Ager explains. “And according to the weather forecast for the weekend has developed in the cause of the week, means that the risk of further damage is high.”

“In accordance with the backers of Joachim, we have decided that Joachim will not be present at the race this weekend. Our latest decision means, that we haven’t had much time to find a replacement driver, so in the end I might jump into the car.”
