TOOLS leaves WestCoast Racing

WestCoast Racing’s main sponsor TOOLS are going to end their co operation with the team at the end of this season.
“We have a three year deal that runs out now. At the very same second that the cars pass the finish line in the last races of the year, we are going to focus on 2010,” said team boss Dick Jönsson-Wigroth.

TOOLS started their co operation with the team in 2006.

“We have reached the goals we put up in 2006 and we wish the team the best of luck at the finale and in the future,” said Stefan Lind, CEO of TOOLS Sweden.

The withdrawal puts WestCoast Racing in a tough spot for the coming season as they stand without a main sponsor.

“We are working intensively with the plans for next season regarding if we are going to compete in Sweden our abroad,” said Jönsson-Wigroth.

While the team could head abroad, team boss Jönsson-Wigroth states that they will most likely remain in the STCC. Richard Göransson is also confirmed to continue with the team next year.

“We have firm plans to compete abroad, but it would only be strong demands from a new sponsor that would make us leave STCC, a series that hold high international standard,” said Jönsson-Wigroth.
