Coronel will race at Japan and Macau

Current independents championship leader Tom Coronel will race at the final two races of this year at Okayama and Macau. The Dutchman was left without a seat after SEAT Holland were forced to withdraw due to cashflow problems. Dutch TV channel RTL Now reports that his sponsor McGregor will take care of the budget for Coronel to race at the final two races as well.

McGregor has been a loyal personal sponsor of Coronel for many years. The color scheme of the car Coronel will be driving will look very much the same as the one his twin brother Tim Coronel drove in the SEAT León Eurocup this year.

His cars will be in this color already at the next round at Imola, because the cars will have to be shipped to Asia right after the races in Italy.

Coronel has stayed remarkably positive after the news he couldn’t drive the last two rounds of the championship, which now pays off.
