No more DTC for KP Racing in 2009

The Mercedes team KP Racing is not going to take part in any more races of the Danish Touring Car Championship this year.
“The engine won’t be ready on this side of the season’s end,” team manager Karsten Pind told DTC-Net.dk.

There is no doubt that the Danish team have had quite a bad season with several blown up engines, but this time it’s impossible to rebuild the engine.

This leaves Tom Pedersen without a seat for the remaining two races.

“After my third visit at Gerent Motortechnik within a week, it is now obvious that our car will not drive again this season”, Pind said.

The big problem seems to be the crankshaft, which cannot be used again due to its damages. Getting a new one will approximately take four to six months for the team.

This weekend, the rest of the DTC drivers will compete on Ring Djursland for the penultimate round of this year’s championship.
