Timo Scheider sets the pace in warm-up

Timo Scheider set the quickest lap of the morning warm-up session at Brands Hatch. The Audi Sport Team Abt driver stopped the clock on 42.154 seconds in a session which saw the top eleven times split by less than half a second.

Scheider’s championship rival, Mattias Ekström, was second fastest. The Swede was a mere 00.094 seconds behind Scheider.

Pole sitter Paul di Resta managed to claim the third fastest time of the session. His time was so close to that of Ekström, with the pair separated by 0.002 seconds over the lap.

Gary Paffett will be hoping to find some extra pace when the race gets under way this afternoon. The former DTM champion could only manage 11th fastest in front of his home crowd.

Christian Bakkerud enjoyed a positive warm-up in his 2007 specification Audi, he managed 14th fastest.
