Jason Watt one off entry confirmed
Danish disabled driver, Jason Watt will as previously announced at TouringCarTimes, enter the Oschersleben round of the World Touring Car Championship. All through the week his name has been on the official FIA WTCC papers, and now the series has confirmed the entry.
Watt is driving a 2008 Seat Leon FSI S2000, and is currently fourth in the Danish Touring Car Championship. The former champion of 2002 is disabled, due to a motorcycle crash in 1999 and is driving his Leon with hand controls.
It is thought that Watt is trying to put together a full attack on the WTCC next year, and this round will be a toe in the water attempt.
This means that three Danish drivers will enter the round; Kristian Poulsen is driving a full season with Engstler Motorsport in his BMW 320i E90. Michel Nykjær will drive his DTC entry currently second in the DTC championship, the Chevrolet Lacetti of Perfection Racing, laiden with 40kg of compensation weight.
However, 30kg of this handicap will be scrapped because of two decisions issued by the Bureau during the previous years (27/07/2006_1 and 26/02/2008_6).
