Racing Silverline top Silverstone practice

Mat Jackson topped the time sheets ahead of team mate Jason Plato in the first practice session at Silverstone’s National Circuit. Returnee Reid was 16th just ahead of new boy Johnny Herbert.

The shock of the session though was Tom Onslow-Cole, who managed to finish third in the session, just 0.148s adrift of Jackson’s fastest time of 1:01.049.

Team mate Tom Chilton could only manage 11th in a very close session which saw the top 15 seperated by less than a second.

Title rivals Giovanardi & Turkington seperated by only hundredths of a second in fifth & sixth respectively.
