Elgaard cast doubt over more races

After the heavy crash in the DTC finale, where Casper Elgaard´s Seat Leon was heavily damaged, he now cast doubt over more DTC races this season. The former champion has been haunted by sponsorship challenges, and Sunday he wrote on his blog, that this was probably it.

“Well now I am home on the couch, “Elgaard wrote.

“I have a severe headache, and pain in my neck. I am frustrated and sad that I was pushed of the track, in a finale where I think that I had very good chances for a victory. But after all, I am happy that no one got hurt.””

“Everything happened at the DTC race this weekend at FDM Jyllandsringen. I started out by setting the fastest time on Saturday, which gave me pole in the first heat on Sunday. A heat which I lead from start to finish. The second heat, I drove myself up from a starting position as number 8, too fifth spot. So basically I had to start from second spot in the finale,”

“Already in the second turn I am squeezed and then I am pushed off track by Michel Nykjær. The result is a damaged car, a very sore neck and a decent headache.

I think that was it for my racing season – now the dancing season starts, and so does my daily dancing training to “Strictly Come Dancing”, and I don’t think that I would have any chances on crutches.”
