KP Racing absent at GP Danmark

The silver Mercedes C200 S2000 driven by Tom Pedersen, which nearly won a heat at the last round of the Danish Touring Car Championship at Padborg Park, will sadly not make it to this weekend’s GP Danmark. During a test session this Tuesday, the car’s engine blew up. And the team is not able to overhaul the engine, due to excessive damage.

“It was tough to realize, that the pistons had made a hole in the engine block“ team boss Karsten Pind explains. “So the only thing we could do was to pack up as soon as possible, and head for our engine builder in Bielefeld, Germany. He will then start from scratch, and build us a brand-new engine.”

“It seems that the quality of the pistons is to blame for the four engine breakdowns we have had in this rather short season. So this time we will put in pistons built from another material, in the engine. We are obviously very anxious to know, when we can get the new engine home. But sadly it means that we will not be able to race at Jyllandsringen this Sunday.”
