Weight adjustments before GP DK

The Danish Touringcar Championship administration has announced an adjustment of the minimum weight for all cars. After seing the great success of the front wheel driven Honda Accords and Chevrolet Lacetti’s in the first four DTC venues, change has come.

The two Honda Accord Euro-R cars, raced by James Thompson and Per Poulsen, must add 15 kilos of weight while Henrik Lundgaard and European champion Michel Nykjær will race with additional five kilos in their Chevrolets.

This adjustment might come in handy for the BMW drivers, who have struggled to deal with the above mentioned cars in the first half of this season. Veteran John Nielsen expressed his worries about the BMW 320si E90 after the recent race at Padborg Park:

“We just can’t keep up the pace”, he said to DTC-Net.dk. “We can drive as fast as we can in our cars, but there are two Chevrolets and two Hondas which we just can’t reach. The rear wheel drive car is out of this year’s championship, and then we can fight for the remainings, which is in the middle of the field where there is a lot of trouble.”

Hopefully, this change will make way for even more exciting races at Jyllandsringen this weekend.
