Thompson convinced Herbert will do well

Team Dynamics driver James Thompson is convinced that previous Formula One star Johnny Herbert is going to do a good job replacing him in the British Touring Car Championship.
“I had only a contract for six races, and I am sure that Johnny Herbert will fare well,” said Thompson to TouringCarTimes.com.

The reason for Thompson not doing any further BTCC races than six is due to his contrats in the World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars Australia.

“Honestly, it is the best for everyone. I mean, if I should drive the whole season, it would be something else. But I have to race in the V8 Series in Australia, so I had to make that decision,” said Thompson.

While Thompson has a lot of touring car experience, Herbert has never before taken part in a BTCC race.

Herbert’s experiences of the S2000 Honda Civic of Tean Dynamics extends to the test session he had at Rockingham earlier this summer with the team. But Thompson thinks that Herbert and Team Dynamics is a good combination.

“He is very enthusiastic about it and the team is very strong,” said Thompson.
