Martyn Bell to miss Snetterton
Martyn Bell will not line up on the BTCC grid at Snetterton this weekend, after an accident whilst on holiday. Bell was spending the summer break with his family in Turkey, where he fell and damaged his knee.
Bell had spent many months training hard to fully recover from a back injury sustained at Snetterton in 2008, and was looking forward to a clean bill of health this time around. The fall damaged the ligament in his left knee, and doctors have advised him to rest the injury.
“It’s an injury I have had in the past and there is no chance of me being fit enough to drive the Honda this weekend.” said a downbeat Bell, who intends to be back for the Knockhill round of the series.
Last time out at Brands Hatch, Bell enjoyed a solid weekend, and was looking to build on that as the BTCC resumed after the mid-season break.
This unfortunate accident means that Paul O’Neill will line up in the sole Sunshine.co.uk with Tech-Speed Motorsport Honda Integra.
