Tom Onslow-Cole replaces Alan Morrison
Tom Onslow-Cole replaces Alan Morrison at Team Aon for the British Touring Car Championship race at Croft.
“It’s come as a bit of a shock. I’d only just got out of bed at 8 o’ clock this morning when I got the call. I got here like a shot!” said Onslow-Cole to BTCC.net.
Aon team boss Mike Earle explains why there has been a last minute drivers change.
“Alan has had to miss this one due to personal reasons. Tom was around and is a great replacement. But we don’t expect him to win it on the first lap – he’s been out of racing since the end of last season,” said Earle.
Onslow-Cole has been left without a drive since last year and was supposed to drive the Doctor’s car at Croft.
“I’m in Alan’s race suit which thankfully fits me and the seat seems to fit as well.
It’s just a great opportunity – the timing couldn’t be better because the team is making such great progress with the car. I’ve just been told to get into it and drive and don’t bend it!”
