Exclusive: Klostermann back in the DTC
The Danish Touring Car Championship ”Invitation-Only” class is bringing yet another DTC refugee back to the series. The last couple of years, Michael Klostermann have been active in the Danish Special Saloon Car class. But now it is time to return to the DTC.
Klostermann raced in the DTC from 2004 to 2006. He will enter his BMW E46 GTR known from the SSC series in the same specification as last year, where it won the Group 1 class in the SSC.
In the DTC “Invitation-Only” class he will race other non-S2000 cars. Klostermann will compete race under the Perfection Racing flag, the team which he co-owns together with team boss Kent Bo Steffensen. The team also handles the Chevrolet Motorsport Denmark and Martin Marrill DTC effort.
”After two seasons in the Special Saloon Car class, where I managed to clinch a Group 1 championship in 2007, I feel that the time has come to yet another DTC season, ” Klostermann explains.
“It will be a lot of fun to return to the circus of DTC.” However he will not be a stranger to the SSC class. “The last couple of years I’ve had a lot of fair infights with Jørgen Hansen among others, and also Norwegian Christer Gislerud. The SSC spirit is unique, so I am planning a few entries in some selected rounds this year.”
The season opener will be on the 10th of May at FDM Jyllandsringen.
