Oliver Jarvis tops first test of the year

Oliver Jarvis started the first official Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters test at Dijon Prenois fastest. The Brit put his best time, 1:10.520, on his penultimate lap and was half a second faster than his closest rival – Mike Rockenfeller. Both Audi drivers are behind the wheel of 2008 specification cars. Jamie Green prevented it from becoming an Audi 1-2-3 with third fastest time, 0.835 seconds slower than Jarvis.

Mattias Ekström was the fastest 2009 specification car in fourth position. His best time was just 0.025 seconds slower than Green’s.

Ekström was followed by the reigning DTM champion Timo Scheider in fourth, also driving a 2009 specification Audi A4.

Fastest 2009 specification Mercedes C-Class driver was previous Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher in sixth. The German was 0.026 seconds faster than manufacturer colleauge Gary Paffett.

The Dane Tom Kristensen was eight ahead of his fellow countryman Christian Bakkerud in ninth. Both of them were 1.3 seconds off the fastest time of the day.

Mathias Lauda rounded off top ten in his Mercedes C-Class. The tests at Dijon continues tomorrow and the day after.
