Volvo reveals new design and aero kit
The Volvo team, Polestar Racing, has revealed the design for the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2009 season. One new feature is the usage of Volvo’s DRIVEe technology.
“The stability and balance is much better thanks to DRIVe,” said driver Robert Dahlgren.
The diffusor and roof spoiler is taken straight from the road version of the C30 DRIVe.
“DRIVe is an aerodynamical kit that is available for a number of Volvo models. It is designed to reduce drag and by that the fuel consumption. To use this on the race cars has proven very effective,” said Dahlgren.
While most of the Swedish tracks are rather slow and twisty, there are some of the tracks where Dahlgren feels they will make a big difference.
“You can easily tell as a driver that the car is more balanced and stable. It is going to be a positive thing on all tracks but especially on our fast tracks like Mantorp, Falkenberg and Våler,” said Dahlgren.
