First pics of Volkswagen Scirocco in action
The bio gas powered Volkswagen Scirocco has done its first ever shakedown. The run was done at Oschersleben, Germany, yesterday with a test driver from Volkswagen Motorsport behind the wheel. The team only completed a couple of laps due to problems with the engine.
One day earlier the engine of the car was run for the first time ever. Team boss Tobias Johansson reported that they experienced no problems at that stage.
“The engine worked fine and everything went according to plan. On wednesday we are going to take it out on the track for the first time ever to perform a shakedown,” said Johansson one day before the shakedown to STCC.se.
But the shakedown yesterday at Oschersleben was ended earlier than planned. The car was only out for a couple of laps before heading in to the pits.
During the few laps the engine died several times and the test driver had to restart it to get going again.
The first real test, when the drivers Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson are going to take part, is going to be held at Nürburgring on April the 1st and 2nd.
