Stefano D’Aste continues at Proteam

Stefano D’Aste will continue for Proteam Motorsport in the FIA World Touring Car Championship 2009.
“I have a great consideration of Stefano and I kind consider him as OUR driver. It did not take long to renew our agreement for the next season, and now we are evaluating a number of candidates to choose his team mate,” said team boss Valmiro Presenzini.

D’Aste finished third in the Independents Trophy this year and won the title the year before. The Italian has driven for the team since 2005.

This year D’Aste’s team mate Sergio Hernandez won the Independents title and the team aims to have one of their drivers on top next year as well.

“It won’t be easy to repeat next year, however we are still aiming for the top and we’ll enter a strong formation as usual,” said Presenzini.
