Johan Stureson joins DTC-finale
Swedish Touring Car Championship Peugeot-driver Johan Stureson will drive the Danish Touring Car Championship finale at Jyllandsringen this weekend. Stureson finished ninth in STCC 2008 with a second place as best finish.
“We did not reach our goal with top five, but with the conditions we had, I think we have done a good job. There is a big interest for Peugeot in Denmark and our hope is that more drivers want to compete with the 308,” said Stureson.
This is the first appearance of the new S2000 Peugeot 308 outside Sweden and Stureson is looking forward to the race.
“It is always good to compare your self with other teams in other championships. DTC is a strong championship, but it is the final race and everything can happen,” said Stureson.
Stureson will carry 40 kilos of penalty weight due to the fact that he joins the championship for only one race.
Jan Magnussen currently heads the championship standings with 264 points, ahead of Henrik Lundgaard and Tom Pedersen. A total of 60 points are available in the final race which means that a total of five drivers have the mathematical chance to clinch the title this weekend.
