Andersson want Alfa victory at Knutstorp

Mattias Andersson is aiming for a win at the Swedish Touring Car Championship race at Knutstorp. The Alfa Romeo-man came very close last year at Knutstorp to win, but got involved in an accident with Jan “Flash” Nilsson in the last couple of laps.
“I have never been that close and I still have not got over the disappointment. But I love Knutstorp and our car has always worked really well there,” said Andersson to STCC.se.

Currently Andersson is seventh in the championship, some 35 points behind championship leader Fredrik Ekblom. The luck has not been on Andersson’s side, at Sturup earlier this year he crashed with Robert Dahlgren and he lost valuable points.

“If I had finished the races that I retired in the position that I was in I would have been amongst the four that are battling for the title this year,” said Andersson.

Only three races are left of the STCC 2008. The next one takes place at Knutstorp this coming weekend and Andersson promises to be in the fight for the lead.
