SEAT works team in STCC 2009?

The Swedish Touring Car Championship could see a works SEAT-team next year. The Swedish team Danielsson Motorsport have stated that they are working with SEAT Sweden for a STCC-program in 2009.
“The preparations are far gone and we are working with SEAT Sweden to put together a dream team for STCC 2009,” the team stated in a press release.

Currently Danielsson Motorsport are running two SEAT’s in the Junior Touring Car Championship that runs as a support class to STCC. The team also runs two cars in Carrera Cup Scandinavia.

If the deal goes through the co-owner and founder of the team, Alx Danielsson, would most likely be behind the wheel of the car.

Currently the STCC field hosts one SEAT Léon in the hands of Roger Eriksson. The car is privately owned but competes in the regular STCC-class and not the privateers cup as the car is too new for it.
