Dan Eaves returns with Clyde Valley Racing
Clyde Valley Racing is set to make there debut in the British Touring Car Championship next year. One of their drivers will be the experienced and former BTCC-driver Dan Eaves. He will be joined by Phiroze Bilimoria, who will make his debut in the BTCC.
Eventhough the CVR website still shows a E85 – Bio-Ethanol powered Chevrolet Lacetti, the team is expected to drive a pair of bio-fuel SEAT Leóns. The plans with the Chevrolets was aborted in 2007.
“That didn’t happen because our sponsor pulled out, but we have all the funding in place now for next season thanks to our new backer and that’s a great assurance to have so early in the year,” team manager Colin Neill told autosport.com.
The new sponsor for this project has been announced as ‘Cartridge World’, a high street company that specialises in recycling printer cartridges.
The cars are ex-WTCC machines, which we will be collecting in December, and we’ll be running a number of tests to decide exactly what kind of biofuel to use in 2009, although the initial runs will be on E85.”
The team will run under the Carbon Zero Racing banner.
