Björk first to win for three manufacturers

Thed Björk became the first driver in the Swedish Touring Car Championship to win for three different manufacturers. He has won races for BMW, Audi and now Honda.
“I did not know that! But this means something indeed, it is nice with records,” said Björk to Dala-Demokraten.

The STCC career of Björk has been a bit unusual. He made his debut in 2001 in a Super Touring Audi A4, but only drove a few races. 2004 he returned to the series in mid season, driving a BMW.

The following season he made a full season for WestCoast Racing, driving a BMW 320i with Richard Göransson. That year he got two victories and finished second in the championship behind his team mate. In 2006 Björk went to Audi and took his first title after taking three victories.

2007 is his first year with Honda and he hopes to continue taking victories for the team.
“It is really nice to win these races, there are not a lot of chances in a year. The fact that we succeeded at Mantorp is a proof that we did things right since the track does not suit the Honda. The next race is at Gelleråsen that suits us much better,” said Björk.
