Tom Pedersen takes DTC premiere pole
Tom Pedersen took pole position with a very small margin to Jan Magnussen in second place. It was only 0.02 seconds between the two BMW-drivers who also topped the previous test sessions. DTC-newcomer and WTCC-runner James Thompson took third place ahead of Chevrolet-man Michael Outzen and Martin Jensen.
Jens Edman was third best front wheel-driven car in sixth position with his Peugeot 407 ahead of reigning champion Michel Nykjær. The champion has switched make for this year, from SEAT in 2007 to BMW this year with Poulsen Motorsport.
The times were very close through the entire field with 13 drivers within one second. Pedersen in top and Kristian Poulsen in 13th position.
Best SEAT-driver was previous DTC-champion Jason Watt who has finished his Léon only days before the premiere.
Ronnie Bremer, featured in the picture, also made debut with a completely new car. A brand new Mercedes C200, the first S2000-spec ever, was rolled out. There is still a lot of work to be done as Bremer qualified in 25th position of 26 cars.
