Team Essex leaves DTC for Le Mans

Team Essex leaves the Danish Touring Car Championship for next year. Touring Car racing is to be switched for GT Racing and Le Mans.
“We always had international aspirations, but we now have to wait until Essex (a property company) was big enough to pursue them. We have reached that position now, which is why we are going to do the LMS and try to get an entry for Le Mans,” said team owner and driver John Nielsen to Autosport.

The team ran three BMW 320si in the DTC this year for Nielsen, Casper Elgaard and Philip Andersen. Rumor has it that the team will run a LPM2 Porsche Prototype next year. The team has evaluated other series like DTM, STCC and FIA GT.
