Audi is looking for a new female driver

Audi Motorsport will continue in the DTM next year. But there are many question marks regarding the details of their program. The rules of DTM are expected to be changed for the 2009 season, making the 2008 season some kind of middle year. And as Audi introduced their new A4 model very recently the question is if it will be build for 2008 or not. According to our information Audi is on the look for both the new A4-model and a new female driver.

Audi are expected build four new cars of the new A4 model for the top drivers. Champion Ekström is expected to stay, so is Tomczyk and Kristensen. Who will get the fourth 2008 spec’ Audi is so far unknown.

An Audi-driver that will not be in the series next year is Vanina Ickx, as we reported about earlier. While Susie Stoddart will most likely remain with Mercedes next year, Audi is reported to be on the hunt for another female driver. The list that TouringCarTimes has recived of the female drivers that Audi are looking at is long:

Emma Kimiläinen: Drove Radical in Sweden this year
Leanne Tander: Drove the Australian F3 Championship this year
Katherine Legge: Drove Champ Car this year
Simona de Silvestro: Drove Formula Atlantic this year
Rahel Frey: Reported to have got the offer to test for Audi but will race elsewhere next season
