Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters 2007 statistics

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters of 2007 is over. Mattias Ekström clinched his second title after finishing third in the final race at Hockenheim. It has been a long and very eventful season. We have gathered information and statistics from the season and the final race.

– in ten races all cars totally drove 1,661,886 kilometres.

– the total number of laps were 494.

– the youngest driver was Paul di Resta at 21.

– the oldest was Bernd Schneider at 43.

– the average age of all 20 drivers was 28.5.

– drivers from ten different countries started this year: Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Sweden, Belgium. Denmark, France, Greece, Austria and Finland.

– more than 800,000 spectators were at the ten races. That makes the average 80,000 specatators.

– more then 2,000 journalists got accreditation.

– highlights from the races were broadcast in 175 countries.

– 10,500 Dunlop tyres were used by the teams this season.

– that over 152,000 spectators were at the Hockenheim finale, that outsells even F1 at Hockenheim.

– that almost 40,000 paddock tickets were sold for the final race.

– that after the final race, Mattias Ekström invited all his teammates to a party weekend in Sweden with snowmobiles, sauna, bathing in a frozen lake.
