John Filippi confirms he’ll be back on track in the 2017 WTCC
Corsican driver John Filippi has confirmed he will return for a fourth season in the World Touring Car Championship in 2017.
The 21-year-old started his career with Campos Racing in 2014 in the first year of the new TC1 technical regulations, though that year the rookie competed in the swansong year of the TC2T generation cars, driving a SEAT León 1.6T in the second class.
Filippi has stayed with Campos Racing ever since, with title sponsorship from Oscaro, a Paris-based car parts company, driving a TC1-spec Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1, with a best finish of eighth, achieved three times over the course of his career.
“I am very happy to announce that I will be driving again next season in the WTCC,” said Filippi on social media.
Further details on his programme have’t yet been announced.
