First image of new Supercars Holden Commodore
A first computer generated image of the new Holden Commodore in Supercars specification has been produced by ssMedia.
The new Commodore, based on the Opel Insignia, will make its debut next year and development work is currently ongoing by factory Holden team Triple Eight Race Engineering.
“We’ve been working with the guys here for the last six months or so on the shape of the car and turning it into a Supercar,” said Triple Eight Race Engineering team manager Roland Dane to supercars.com.au.
“My whole team is really enthused about doing something that is new, that has its own set of challenges. I think we’re going to have a fantastic looking car – but we’ve got to make it work and we’re really tuned up for it.”
The new regulations, named Gen2, will be introduced for 2018, allowing new body shapes and engines, with Holden being the first manufacturer to commit to it.
