ETCC category name change confirmed for 2017

The FIA European Touring Car Championship organisation has confirmed a name change of its two categories ETCC Super 2000 Cup and ETCC Super 1600 Cup for 2017.

The new names are ETCC 1 Cup and ETCC 2 Cup. The first category, ETCC 1 Cup will be headlined by cars of FIA’s TCN2 regulations, such as the Honda Civic TCR and SEAT León.

The second category will continue to have Super 1600 cars, such as the Ford Fiesta and Peugeot 207 Sport.
