Marcus Annervi confirmed to drive a Honda in the 2017 STCC

The reigning Renault Clio Cup Scandinavia champion Marcus Annervi has been confirmed to drive a Honda Civic TCR in the 2017 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship.

”We have worked for this since the summer and now when it is all done, it does of course feel awesome,” said Annervi.

The Swede is going to drive for the newly formed team Rent A Wreck Racing, renting a Honda Civic of TCR specification from Sportpromotion.

”It feels good to do this programme in a Honda Civic. With some support from Greger (of Sportpromotion) and JAS Motorsport, I think that we are going to do well. The car has been in the TCR International Series for a couple of seasons and has compared to other manufacturers got an advantage in that aspect,” said Annervi.

Greger Petersson, owner of Sportpromotion and the rights to TCR in Scandinavia, states that at least two of his three Honda Civics will be fielded in the 2017 STCC.

The entry of Annervi brings the so far confirmed field up to six cars alongside the three SEATs of PWR Racing, the Volkswagen of Lestrup Racing Team and the Audi of LMS Racing.
