Gary Paffett to race at the Spa 24 Hours

Mercedes AMG has finalised the driver line ups for its eight-car participation in the Spa 24 Hours race, to be held at the Ardennes circuit from the 26th to the 31st of July. Gary Paffett will take part in the prestigious race alongside fellow Stuttgart DTM drivers Daniel Juncadella and Maximilian Götz.

The Briton from Team ART will make his GT debut at the wheel of the number 86 Mercedes AMG GT3 run by Team AMG HTP Motorsport, sharing the drive with HWA’s Götz and former DTM driver Tomas Jäger. This will be the first non DTM race for Paffett since he started competing in the series back in 2004.

Paffett tested the Mercedes AMG GT3 at Spa this week, and is already eager to try the new experience: “I am looking forward to my debut in GT racing, and in such a classic race, no less. The Spa 24-hour race is one of the undisputed highlights in GT racing and a fantastic challenge for every racing driver. I have already been able to test the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and I felt at easy straight away. Now, I am eager to find out what it will be like in the race.”

Daniel Juncadella will race in the sister number 56 car run by Black Falcon, partnered by GT drivers Abdulaziz Al Faisal, Oliver Morley and Miguel Toril.
