Alessandra Neri completes an all-female driver line-up at BD Racing
Alessandra Neri has been drafted in at the last minute to replace Diego Rominani at BD Racing, pairing up with Carlotta Fedeli behind the wheel of one of the team’s two SEAT León Cup Racers.
The 28-year-old former sportscar driver is a commentator for Formula 1 in Italy for Sky, as well as for the channel’s TCR International Series coverage, and will broadcast live from the race on Sunday at the Imola circuit on the Italian feed.
“It’s a big challenge for me, because I haven’t raced for around four years and never in a front-wheel drive car,” said Neri. “So I need to sweep the rust away, get to know the car and talk live on TV altogether. We’ll be live only during Race 2, because broadcasting of the first race will be slightly delayed, and only in moments when I’m not too busy with the racing.”
Former WTCC and ETCC driver Romanini has been forced to stand down due to last minute business commitments.
