Two Peugeot 308s to race in Spa-Francorchamps TCR round

The Peugeot 308 Racing Cup will make its TCR debut at the Spa-Francorchamps round of the series early next month, with Peugeot Sport entrusting Sébastien Loeb Racing to run the two cars.

The Peugeot 308 took part in the TCR’s Balance of Performance test at Valencia ahead of the season start, and will now make its formal racing debut in the series in Belgium, powered by its 1.6 litre turbocharged engine, smaller than the other 2.0 litre cars in the championship.

We are honoured that Peugeot Sport entrusted two cars to Sébastien Loeb Racing for taking part in the TCR event in Spa,” said series promoter Marcello Lotti. “Their participation will add further credit to the TCR concept. I am confident that the 308 Racing Cup will show the great potential that impressed our BoP driver Nicola Larini during the Valencia test.”

The team has not yet confirmed their drivers for the race. Aurelien Comte took part in the Balance of Performance test for the French marque.
