Team Hard expands to two cars for 2016 season

Team Hard will step up its operation to two cars for the 2016 British Touring Car Championship season, after running a single Toyota Avensis for Kieren Gallagher, and later team principal Tony Gilham, in 2015.

The team have already confirmed Mini Challenge driver Chris Smiley for 2016, and now the team has confirmed to Autosport that they will now add a second car, with the availability of additional TBLs after the withdrawal of Rob Austin Racing and Support Our Paras Racing from the championship.

“We are moving into the British GT world this year too, so we are really expanding,” Gilham told Autosport.

“We are looking at what cars we will use in the BTCC,” he added.

“We want to have two of the same type of cars, but they might not necessarily be the Avensis that we ran in 2015. We have got some options for a different machine.”
