John Filippi confirms 2016 entry with privateer Chevrolet
John Filippi has confirmed his continued programme with Campos Racing in the FIA World Touring Car Championship and becomes the so far first privateer Chevrolet driver of the 2016 season.
“My objective is to establish my legitimacy in this championship with my last performances in mind. I am very happy to continue working with the engineers and mechanics from the Campos team. I am very confident for this season and I hope that I can get some great results,” said Filippi.
The 20-year-old will receive coaching from four-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller during the season, something he hopes will boost his chances of strong results.
“I am very happy to continue our common story,” said Filippi.
Filippi will continue driving a Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 with which he finished 18th overall and eighth in the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy last year with eighth position as his best individual race result.
