Jordi Gené breaks rib in Macau crash, and fined for the incident (updated)
Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Jordi Gené was taken to hospital following the crash at the start of Race 2, which saw 11 cars eliminated at the start of the race. The stewards have also concluded that the Spaniard was responsible for the incident, and have fined him 1,000 EUR.
Gené was taken to hospital for precautionary checks after complaining of pains to his sides after the incident, and has not yet returned to the circuit. The Spanish driver later confirmed on his social media accounts that he had broken a rib.

Rob Huff, who was taken out in the incident, felt Gené was also to blame for the crash.
“I feel that there’s a corner there, you’ve got to turn at some point, and he didn’t seem to want to turn it,” said Race 1 winner Rob Huff, the first to be caught in the incident. “It was a shame as I think we could have had two wins today.”
