James Nash joins Proteam/FRD Ford squad for Macau finale
2013 WTCC independents’ champion James Nash will make his third appearance at the Guia Race of Macau, racing a Ford Focus ST run jointly by Proteam Racing and FRD Ford HK Racing Team.
Nash has been competing in the Blancpain GT Series since 2013, after five years experience in top level touring cars, competing with RML and Triple Eight in the British Touring Car Championship, winning the independents’ title in 2011, before joining Arena Motorsport for their WTCC programme with Ford in 2012, and then switching to bamboo-engineering for 2013, securing third place in the drivers’ championship with two victories.
“I’ve been watching TCR develop over its maiden season and the success is amazing,” said Nash. “Joining the championship with the Ford team is a great opportunity and racing at Macau is always special. I can’t wait to meet the team and have my first few laps in a TCR car,” he added.
