Speedworks Motorsport and Honda Yuasa Racing granted additional TBLs for 2016
Speedworks Motorsport have been issued with an additional TOCA BTCC License (TBL), while Honda Yuasa Racing have been loaned a third licence for the 2016 season.
Competitors had until the end of October to pay the deposit required for a 2016 licence, with the same deadline set for anyone wishing to apply for new or additional licence.
The system was introduced in 2014 with a maximum of 30 licences being made available for a minimum of three seasons, running until the end of 2016. Two further licences were held back by TOCA and were to be loaned to a suitable entrant, but would not be sold or permanently transferred.
Support Our Paras Racing, who originally held the two loaned licences for 2015 when entered with manufacturer backing from Infiniti, have retained one of the two loaned licences, while Honda Yuasa Racing have been granted the second, upping their entry for 2016 to three cars.
Speedworks Motorsport are the only team to have secured an additional licence, which was made available after Welch Motorsport lost one during the 2015 season after withdrawing the car of Andy Wilmot at Knockhill. TBL rules state that an entry unused for one round will void the licence.
