Gabriele Tarquini receives grid penalty for Buriram
Castrol Honda’s Gabriele Tarquini has received a penalty, after the stewards at the tenth round of the 2015 WTCC season in Shanghai found him responsible for causing a collision.
During the initial stages of Race 1, Tarquini and Lada’s Rob Huff came side by side, with the Italian trying to overtake the Briton. The move resulted in both cars suffering broken suspensions, which led to their retirements from the race.
The Stewards have deemed Tarquini responsible for the incident, and have penalised the Italian with a 5-position grid drop for the next event in Buriram in five weeks’ time.
